Hi there! My name is Mekayla. I’m 27 and was born and raised in the greater St. Louis area. My first job was as a babysitter which quickly progressed into volunteer work at a local preschool. Once I turned 18 I began working full time at this preschool and stayed with them for 8 years. During that time I fell in love with my little ones, and realized how special it is to watch their little brains grow. Encouraging children to be who they are, to be kind, and to have fun are my biggest priorities when caring for them. During my time at the preschool I gained so many friendships with the families of the kids I taught. One of the families even asked me to become the godparent for one of their kids! I love being able to keep up with how the kiddos are doing in school and what kind of little humans they are growing up to be. More recently I have left childcare and tried my hand in the corporate world. I’ve realized it isn’t for me, as I miss working with kids SO much. That’s why I’m here! I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your little ones and be considered as a full time caregiver. I have training in childcare ages newborn all the way through elementary age, and specialize specifically in Montessori teaching.
