I have been working with children for over 20 years in different roles. I started babysitting as a teenager, and in my 20s started working with children with Autism. I have used positive reinforcement, 1-2-3 Magic, and redirecting to encourage healthy behaviors. I have a degree in Social Work and as a professional I am familiar with child development, and worked as a Parent Educator. I'm trained in Parents As Teachers, Circle of Security, and First Aid and CPR, among numerous other trainings. I understand child development benchmarks and milestones, and know how to facilitate the development a childs emerging skills through play. Working in Family Preservation, as a Social Worker, was what I loved the most about my career. Helping families stay together, where children can grow and learn in a natural, supportive, loving environment was one of the most meaningful ways I could use my education.
