Hello! My name is Abigail but everyone calls me Abi and I have always loved working with kids and pets. I am a 19 year old college freshman and have always grown up babysitting and dog sitting. I have also taken a child development class my senior year of high school I absolutely loved. This class was a preschool for 3-5 year olds at Rolla High School that my classmates and I made lesson plans and taught for. I currently am working at The Rolla Parks and Recreation Centre as a child care associate. I have worked here since October and help run their Afterschool program of about 15-20 kids in the afternoon. I take them swimming at the pool, plan crafts and movie day activities, take them to the gym (for soccer, basketball, etc.), or bring them to the park for some fresh air. I also do Stay and Read more Play which is me watching kids(usually younger like babies and toddlers) while their parents workout in the gym. I have been CPR/First Aid certified and trained in the Heimlich as well. I will be moving on campus at SEMO in the fall as I start my classes for my sophomore year, so that is when I plan to leave my current job. I am willing to schedule my classes around my work schedule or vice versa. I would still love to babysit or nanny kids of all ages and of course any pets!
