I have a true passion for working with children as demonstrated by my work experience for the last 30 + years- please refer to my attached resume. I am kind and genuine with a calm demeanor, but can also be silly, playful and spontaneous and will make an amazing playmate and caregiver for a family. I’m just at ease playing on the floor, splashing in rain puddles, getting dirty walking through the woods as I am creating fun desserts in the kitchen or dressing up for imaginary play. My strengths with children are my ability to make them feel safe, free to express themselves, supported in their ideas and interests while also demonstrating the importance of setting boundaries for personal safety and social awareness. My play-based physical therapy background ensures that developmental milestones will be monitored and encouraged and I have extensive experience working on sleep and potty training, dressing, self-care, self-calming and play, (including creative and imaginary play), riding trikes/bikes, swimming and outdoor adventures for exploration and natural learning opportunities. I believe that teaching kindness, empathy and manners are important and feel strongly that demonstrating these daily with children and others are just as important for their social and emotional growth. I also enjoy traveling and researching/planning activities and outings for planned destinations. I have an Associates Degree in Physical Therapy, have trained and worked as a Domestic/International Flight Attendant, water safety training and a strong swimmer, Baby and Infant Massage certification, CPR/First Aid, 350 hours pediatric courses for developmental play, sensory and water activities, balance and movement, music play and more.
