Hi, my name is Mikayla. I am 20 years old. I am the second oldest of five kids in my own personal family. So being around children has always been a part of my life. But, I have experience beyond my own family. To start out, I have been working in the daycare setting since July of last year. The age groups I worked with were mainly the infants and toddlers. However, I spent around 3 months working with 2-5 year olds in the afternoon. I also spent a few days working with school agers during Christmas break or when a sub was needed. In addition to working in a daycare, I have also been teaching a religion class at my church for prek/kindergarteners for 4 years now. It is a possibility that I will continue teaching this class in September if my schedule allows me to . Finally, I Read more have babysat children in multiple different settings in the past whether it be just for a night or an actual summer job. Two of the children I watched over one summer (they were actually my cousins) I was able to honor the parents wishes and take them places in town, as I have my own car as my source of transportation. I believe that being a nanny would be the perfect fit for me, as I would be able to bond with the children one on one in addition to being able to dedicate my time to doing activities with them & taking them places outside of the house if that was the parents wish. I continue working with children over and over because they influence my life in such a positive way, and that makes me a better person which is what I strive for. As far as training goes, I have over 12 hours done with the state of Missouri for this year that is need to work in childcare facilities. In addition, I Have my CPR certificate for infants, adults, and toddlers which I received back in March of this year (2015).
