Hi! I'm Lauren, an early childhood educator with years of experience, both as a teacher in a center and as a nanny. More recently, I have begun a home day care, and I can assure you I am much more than just a babysitter and my home is far more educational than a typical day care. In my years of teaching and in college, I have done extensive research regarding early childhood development, so I am exceptionally knowledgeable about the developmental stages each age group should reach, which signs to look for to suggest a child is ready to work toward a new milestone, and boundless projects and activities to help them get there! I believe the best way to learn is through hands-on fun, so at my house, everyone is always engaged in age-appropriate activities, and I frequently create new projects based on each child's interests. The projects I Read more develop focus on subjects such as art (we get very creative here, painting with much more than just paint brushes!), science (including age-appropriate science experiments, investigating the outside world, categorizing various items, and getting messy with sensory experiences), mathematics (counting, writing and identifying numbers, adding and subtracting when ready), gross motor skills, reading and writing as developmentally appropriate, and social skills. Additionally, as an understanding mother, I make every possible effort to make each parent feel comfortable, so not only do I stay in contact throughout the day, but I have also created a private web page to share pictures with families. *Daily rates available for part time care. Weekly rates listed are based on full time care. Rates vary based on age of child, hours needed, and whether food will be provided by you or me.*
