I am a single mother, my son is 4 years old. I have been able to be a stay at home mom because of sitting and my photography business. For me it was important to stay home with my son so I set out to find a way to make that happen. I chose to be a sitter/nanny because thats what I've been doing since my son was born, it is what I know and love. I found a way to help other families while maintaining my commitment to my own. In my free time I focus on my family and photography business. My son and I love going to the library, arts and crafts, dance parties, snuggles on the couch, pajama days, picnics (in the living room on cold days), blanket forts and of course dramatic play. He has the most elaborate imagination and I am so thankful that Read more he shares it with me because I forgot how much fun it is to be a kid. But it's not all fun and games. From the beginning of motherhood I knew that I was going to be my sons first and most influential teacher so we have routines, rules, consequences, and respect. I have seen my son flourish with structure and I've also seen him get a little wobbly when his routines get disrupted. Many things can throw kiddos off like a new nanny/ sitter or adding or taking away a step in their morning routine. In a perfect world non of these things would happen but the truth is that they do. As parents and adults we have to appreciate these hard times for our kiddos and give them a little extra love, time, and understanding to help them through.
