Hello parents! My name is Carly, I am 23, happily married, and love children! I graduated from UNCG in May 2014 with a BA in Psychology with a concentration in Developmental Psychology. What I am looking for: A position starting in early July. I am currently expecting my first child in May and, depending on the hours of the position and amount of children, it would be ideal to bring my little bundle to work with me occasionally or all the time. My work history: In college, I was a summer camp counselor for children, ages 5-12. I life guarded and lead 15-25 children through various camp activities. In my junior and senior years in college, I was a Teen Mom Mentor every Thursday night. I assisted my teen mom in reading to her infant/toddler and educated her on what to expect as her child grew in each developmental milestone. Read more After college, I interned with a domestic violence shelter in Greensboro, NC through a program. At Harmony House I assisted in supervised visitation for survivors of child abuse and domestic violence. I provided resources to victims of domestic violence, such as how to handle legal proceedings and what to expect in the healing process. I also supervised offenders of domestic violence in structured playtime with their children. Upon moving to Raleigh, I began temporarily nannying with a family of 3 boys ages 3, 5, and 11. After 6 months, I decided to continue nannying instead of pursuing non-profit work and found a position with 5 year old twins. Every child I have nannied has stolen my heart and I LOVE being in a job that allows me to use my education and experience along with the ability to love them and watch them grow. A little about myself: I currently work in the children's ministry at my church and lead 3-4 infants and toddlers on Sundays. My husband and I are also Youth Leaders at our church and love it! My husband is an awesome human who designs and makes custom handmade furniture. We are both positive people who love being outdoors. My hobbies include: running, biking, hiking, and taking my little doggie out on the boat or for a walk. I enjoy having friends and family over and you can find us on the weekends grilling out and playing volleyball. I have a big heart and a passion for childcare.
