I grew up on a horse ranch in Missouri and started babysitting for neighborhood families when I was 12 years old. Later, in college, I offered evening and weekend child care to families of my professors and enjoyed watching their children grow and develop. Over the years I founded my own organic textile company employing refugee women as seamstresses. The women had no family in this country and so brought their babies and toddlers to work with them. I became the care taker and "grandmother" to all the children providing a preschool-like environment and the kind of nurturing that only an older person can give to young ones. Now, I am semi-retired and want to expand my life-long love of childcare into being a full(ish) time nanny. I am warm and kind, patient, gentle and very creative. My mission for the next several years of my career is to help raise healthy, happy, well educated children. I'm looking for a long term relationship with a family so that I can not only provide child care, but can serve as a resource to the parents and a safe, reliable and comforting presence for the children.
