You know that moment when you pull up to a big brick building, carrying the most precious thing you own buckled in their Graco carseat? It's their first day at preschool and one of the hardest things you've ever done. Or the moment when you realize you can't do this all by yourself, this is a whole little human and you need help? That's where I come in. On top of my over 30 years of experience as a child care specialist I'm a single mom to two kids of my very own. I've been through all the moments you could possibly imagine. The music classes, dance, sports, playdates, food allergies, unforeseen health problems, temper-tantrums, speech and learning disabilities, fundraisers, bake sales and bullying. All of the beautiful moments offered up by this little thing called parenthood and this was before technology! I get it. Children are my passion, its Read more as simple as that. I never expected to go into child care when I thought about what my future would entail but, at risk of sounding cliché, this path chose me. I started with infant care when I was 20 years old and after having my own children, started private daycare. Finally ready to get back out into the work force I chose a position with my youngest girl at a local preschool. I quickly excelled and was promoted to director. From there I moved on into the pediatric medical world working as a receptionist then finally turning my full attention to In Home Professional Child Care where I have loved every minute of the last 12 years. This field has allowed me to meet wonderful families and exceptional children, giving me the opportunity to grow in my teaching ability and get really hands on with individual learning patterns. I have also been able to work with children who have hearing, speech delays and ADHD. I am always up for a challenge. Remember those kids of mine I was talking about earlier? Well they were far from easy. Trial and error is a real thing and struggling is a part of parenthood. I know what its like to want the best for my children and I would expect no less from anyone else responsible for their well-being. These are the standards I hold for myself when I'm working in child care as well. To be the best that I can possibly be for the family, and have a little fun while doing it. Arts and Crafts anyone.
