I love working with children and work very well with them no matter their age. I spent a few years taking care of two 8-10 year old boys while I lived in Charlotte. I would bring them home from school each day, make them food, and assist them with homework activities. I really enjoy getting school aged children excited about learning, and I know a variety of methods to get children engaged. I am also very good at cooking food that even a picky eater would enjoy with it still being healthy—coming from experience, as someone who was once a picky eater herself. Additionally, I have food preparation experience through another job I had in college, and am well aware of how to provide for varying allergy and dietary needs. I also work well with infants, as I spent several months in summer 2015 taking care of a five month Read more old for 5-7 hours a day. I am responsible and dedicated, and I do not tire easily. I enjoy not just taking care of a child’s immediate needs, but fostering an environment where they can grow and learn. When I was with the five-month old, I constantly took the time to play with him in ways that would allow him to learn more about the world, as well as talking to him to improve his language skills. Taking care of children is more than just an obligation to me; it is an opportunity to enrich the world around me by providing for the future.
