Hello! My name is Mackenzie but my kids call me Ms Mack! My hobbies are art and baking. I enjoy going to music events and watching stand up comedy. It’s always been my dream to work with children and more specifically teach art. I started my career in childcare around 3 years ago at the Goddard Preschool in Rock Hill, SC where I taught in the 2-2.5 year old classroom. I left Goddard to become a nanny after moving to Charlotte. I spent 2 wonderful years with a family caring for their toddler and performing household duties. I have been doing artwork full time for the past 6 months but learned that wasn't fulfilling for me. My true passion is working with children; that's what has made me the happiest! I work hard to make sure the kids are having fun while also learning. I take a more montessori approach Read more to teaching and believe in learning through play. I find that children are able to grasp concepts faster during hands on activities that they enjoy. I want kids to be excited to learn new things. It's important to me that children grow up to be confident and independent. I try to incorporate these characteristics in activities and the way I interact with them while teaching.
