Hello, I'm Savannah! I'm 25 and I have my AA in criminal justice from RCCC. But my most recent nannying job showed just how big my passion for children is so now I am currently working toward my Bachelors in Education at UNCC.. I was a Military police in the US Army for 5 years. Having the opportunity of being the nanny and caregiver for almost 4 years has made me view children in a whole new light. They are so full of life and energy it actually makes me feel more energetic. So in the meantime I'm looking for a full-time nannying position starting right after the new year of 2015. I started taking care of children in the 6th grade. I grew up babysitting for several families on a daily basis. I have taken care of kids from 4 weeks to 13 years of age. Before I joined Read more the Army I had a job at a local child development and after school care center. I worked with elementary age kids during the morning and afternoon and while they were at school I was with a 4-year-old class for over a year. I just recently stopped being a nanny to twins (boy and girl) after caring for them from the age 6 months to 4 years. This experience taught me a great amount about the way children learn, patience, and child development. Being a nanny for twins was a challenging job at times but I really enjoyed being an influence on their lives. The twins were always advanced in their milestones and have excelled in their writing, numbers and letters. We did weekly trips to the library, playground, Reedy Creek Nature Preserve, Discovery place, splash pads (during the summer), swim lessons, and many other activities to help their development as they got older. However it is time for the twins to attend pre-k and for me to start looking for another wonderful family to work with. I was very blessed to have this job while I've been going to school, currently online. My employers took me on their vacations with them so I could maintain my income (although I know this isn't always the case) so just know that I am flexible to do so. I thoroughly enjoyed my first full-time nannying position, and grew close to the children! I love teaching and watching them pick-up on the things I taught them and I am excited to share a similar experience with different kids! After all they are our future.
