I have worked and played with young children all my life. I have taught infants through preschool, elementary school, directed an infant and toddler center, operated a family daycare in my home and taught babysitter training courses. I am glad that I made the switch from working at a daycare center because it's homier, less structured, less stressful, more one-on-one, healthier and more child friendly. I am happy to say that becoming a nanny again after so many years has been a really wonderful experience. It's obvious that I love what I do. On a more serious note I have worked for the same family for the past four years. The twins were a year old and their big sister was seven. Grammy and Grampy also live in the house along with three pets. A year after I began the twins were diagnosed with PDD-NOS on the autism spectrum. I Read more am thankful that I had experience, patience and organizational skills to help the kids and their parents through this emotional time. I enjoy empowering children helping them to make good choices and learn proper manners. I maintain a happy, positive, calm, and nurturing environment. I think consistency is important and a sense of humor is one of my best "tools" to be effective in all that I do every day.
