Hello! My name is Samantha Coran and I am a 28 year old high school dance teacher at Ben L. Smith High School in Greensboro, NC. This is my second year of public school teaching; last year I had the opportunity to teach middle school dance. I love my job because it combines my two favorite things: working with children and dance. I have been doing both for close to fifteen years and consider myself very well qualified, particularly in my childcare abilities. I am originally from Philadelphia and as the oldest of four girls I grew up taking care of my sisters, so babysitting came naturally to me from a young age. Since I was thirteen I have held many steady babysitting jobs for families with children between the ages of infancy and sixteen. I babysat during high school, college, after college and most recently during my time in Read more Graduate school at UNCG, which I finished in 2014 with a Masters Degree in dance education, along with obtaining my K-12 public school teaching license. In addition to babysitting I worked for several years as a full time nanny in Philadelphia for three different families with children ages two, four, and sixteen months. Furthermore, I have been a camp counselor and dance teacher for many consecutive summers at sleep away camps in Maine and most recently in Virginia; where I worked last summer (2015) as a dance and yoga counselor at Camp Mont Shenandoah. I have had many different experiences that have helped shape and develop the way that I work with children and I look forward to continuing that as I work with you and your family! Lastly, I am First Aid and CPR certified; my training was re-evaluated and completed n June 2015.
