Being the oldest sister, cousin, grandchild, niece, etc I've always had to help my family raise the younger ones. I have a sister that is about 15 years younger than me, I took a major role in raising her while my parents went back to school and continued to work full time. One summer I flew to another state to became a nanny for a family that was new in their neighborhood. I took care of two boys, the ages of 4 and 8. I taught the 4-year-old the alphabet. I helped the 8-year-old find interesting books to read because he claimed he hated reading. I also occasionally watched kids around the neighborhood of their parents needed a night off, had errands to run, etc.
