As a student that is seeking a career in the health care field, I feel that it is necessary to be committed to the health, happiness, and overall well-being of people that are in my care. I am a patient person that will put others before myself on a day to day basis. I enjoy being around children and seeing them excel in their daily life. I volunteered to implement an exercise program by the name of BOKS, which stands for Build Our Kids' Success. I met the students each morning before school started and had a workout session. The children were very enthusiastic about learning how to become healthier. I provided fruits and snacks before the workout. We had a one hour workout that had specific exercises planned out each morning. The most popular exercises were relay races, basketball games, and Frisbee toss. Afterwards, the students would go to Read more class and we would pick up where we left off the next morning. I was a volunteer second grade tutor for students a local elementary school. I would meet the students at the public library each day at 3:00 pm for a review session on what had been taught in class that day. I have also been the neighborhood childcare sitter on and off for about two years. I am willing to be certified in any necessary program (CPR/ First Aid).
