Hi, I'm Kimberly! I just came back to the US after teaching in Japan. My grandparents are elderly and so I came back to be near them since the rest of my family live in other states. I currently work as a remote customer service agent for Williams-Sonoma, and teach online. However, I am planning to go back to taking care of children as that is my passion. I started off as a nanny when I was 18 years old and in college, and even have experience babysitting infants and toddlers prior to that. After graduating university, I moved to Japan and taught English for 13 years to students of all ages and in different learning environments, English schools, public schools (elementary, middle and high schools), immersion school, and most recently for a well-respected private high school. I also taught special "Organic English" lessons and events, which I created in Read more order to teach children English in a natural way through fun activities, such as flower arranging, cooking, and farming with a sustainable natural twist. It was through teaching and living in Japan, that I realized I would like to teach mindfulness and emotional literacy to children, but first I have some studying to do myself. So, I'd like to take a 3-5 years to nanny and study in my free time. I also love art, gardening, cooking, yoga, and DIY. I was a student of Japanese tea ceremony and flower arranging while in Japan. I speak Japanese fluently now, and still remember some basic Spanish. I have so many interests and really think it's important to foster children's interests and educational experiences and give them chances to lots of fun things. Volunteering has always been important to me. I started in college and when I was in Japan I started a volunteer group that I still have Zoom meetings with. I would like to work for a family that has similar interests about the importance of nurturing creativity, imagination, and making learning fun and meaningful.
