I began babysitting in high school, just watching children of family friends. I quickly learned it was something I enjoyed doing, and I loved being active with the kids. During my years in undergrad I nannied for a a family who lived near my university. I did this all four years during my undergraduate career, and I truly enjoyed it. I nannied three children, who were 5 years, 3 years, and 8 months old when I began. During my time with this family I was able to watch the children learn, grow and change, and i was very close with the children in the years that I spent with them. During that time I took the kids to and from school, prepared meals, assisted with homework, aided with extracurricular activities, and stayed with children extended periods of time while parents were out of town. I still keep in close contact Read more with the family, and I am thankful to have gained experience and learned so much in working with them. Currently, I am working towards obtaining my Masters Degree in school counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I attend full-time, mostly evening classes, so I would be most available part-time, working in the morning to early afternoon. Working with children is a passion of mine, and nannying has helped me find my drive in working towards a career in school counseling. I consider myself a child at heart, and I would love the opportunity to gain more experience and care for children while I pursue my degree.
