Approach: Childhood is so important! I have a reverence for the lessons we learn about ourselves and the world during childhood, knowing that what we internalize then creates the inner world we live in and work from years later. My style can be called Conscious or Respectful Parenting. I pull from Montessori principals as well as Attachment Theory to encourage a deep sense of both independence and interdependence. My work is in modeling and encouraging curiosity, play, self reflection, intrinsic responsibility and motivation, open and respectful communication, generative conflict resolution, strong relationship building skills, and fun! Modeling clear and strong boundaries along with presence and regulation as we *actively* navigate big feelings is essential. A byproduct of that work is supporting the development of a secure attachment style. I see my most important job with infants as creating a calm and regulated space to help them develop and connect. I love taking kids on walks into nature or into town to encourage noticing, exploration, and fun! It’s important to me to have a supportive relationship with you as the parent(s) where we can communicate openly as we work together. Background: I'm 28 and have been working with children since I was 12, but serious about developing my skills with them since college. I graduated from UNC Asheville where I studied Psychology, Sociology, and 2 years of elementary ed. I’ve worked with a family of now ten-year-old triplets since 2015 and it’s been so awesome and one of my most cherished experiences. Over the past couple of years I’ve worked with five other families ages 18 mo.-10 yrs.
