I graduated from Western Carolina University in December 2016. Currently trying to obtain my teaching license. I grew up watching my younger siblings, I’m eight out of 10 siblings. With that little experience, I also got the chance to babysit and nanny my little nieces and nephews while my brothers and sisters went to work. This gave me the experience and passion to pursue into education. It was always wonderful seeing my nieces and nephews grow up and being able to teach them responsibilities and do homework with them. I took care of them, along with my younger sisters, as if they were my own children. If they got hurt, I was hurt. If they we were, I was happy. Once I graduated, I started working in lots of afterschool jobs working with children: kindergarteners all the way up to fifth grade, some were sixth and seventh graders. As of Read more my recent job, I worked at a daycare school in Mooresville, NC. I worked as a Lead Teacher in the School-Age afterschool program, but in the morning I would float around each classroom to help out with anything needed, such as lesson planning, potty breaks, lunch breaks, or just a breather. The daycare range from infants (the youngest we’ve had was a two-month old baby) to five year olds, and then up to third graders in the afternoon when schools let out. When I’m in the classrooms helping, I would help feed the children, play with them, read to them, help put them to sleep, and care for them. Each child I encounter, everywhere I’ve been, has impacted me and I don’t have a regret choosing this path. I was able to obtain my CPR/First Aid/AED certificate last year and my BSAC (Basic School Age Childcare) certificate in August 2016. I also have references if needed.
