Hello! My name is Erin Murphy and I have been caring for children for almost 10 years. I started as a mother's helper at 14 years old and have been babysitting regularly every since. My mother ran a daycare from our home for almost 18 years so when I wasn't caring for children on my own, I was helping her with children of all ages. I have a passion for providing an engaging and educational experience for all of the children that I care for. I am pursuing a graduate degree in Social Work from NC State and hope to use this degree to advance in a career supporting children and families. (Currently booked and not seeking employment 1/1/22).

Erin is amazing! I have two boys - 5 years, and 10 months old. My 5 year old loves to test limits and would drink a gallon of milk a day and eat only cereal bars and chocolate chip cookies if left to feed himself. My 10 month old is very busy exploring the world and trying new foods. Erin makes caring for both children look easy and fun. She is gentle but firm. She is great at setting boundaries and sticking to them in a way that doesn't create a power dynamic/struggle. She is wonderful to work with and pulls from years of experience in introducing babies to solids, consistent nap routines, getting picky eaters to eat, and is 100% reliable. After a nanny who was convinced my 5 year old needed to be in therapy, and one that never showed up, my expectations were pretty low and Erin has gone above and beyond. She even leaves my house cleaner than when she arrived - cleans bottles, makes and cleans up from lunch, picks up toys, etc. The best part for me is that my older son no longer clings to me before I head up to work (I WFH full time), and doesn't even notice when I come down for breaks half the time because he's so busy playing. I'm so glad I found Erin, and would recommend her to anyone!
