I’ve always had a passion for working with children and helping others. I started my journey in childcare working at a daycare, where I gained hands-on experience nurturing kids of all ages. That experience sparked a deeper interest in supporting children with unique needs, which led me to become an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician), then a DSP (Direct Support Professional), and eventually a paraprofessional in a school setting. I also worked as a nanny for a summer, which I really enjoyed—it gave me the opportunity to connect more personally with a family and support their child’s day-to-day needs. My current job as a DSP actually includes a lot of nanny-like duties, such as helping with routines, encouraging independence, and providing consistent, one-on-one care, so it’s been a natural fit for me.
