Though I will be honest that I’m a smoker, I NEVER smoke in front of children, on the job or not, and would not smoke in your private space unless allowed by you, on breaks. I am very interested in this job opportunity as I truly enjoy working with people of all ages, especially in ways of compassion and care. I spent three years at Norwich University working towards my Bachelor’s degree in the Science of Nursing. This educational path provided me with information and skills that I have utilized in other fields of work. Following my time in college, I began to work in the field of early childhood education at an in-home daycare in Wilder, Vermont. I took classes to become a state certified preschool assistant, which covered an array of topics including safety and hygienic protocol, cultural and social sensitivity, and how to provide learning based activities Read more that encourage movement and creativity. I was fascinated by learning how to make classrooms into spaces that offer comfort, welcome individuality, encourage learning and creative thinking, and catered to the various forms and pace in which the children learned. I was then offered a position as a nanny for three children, all under the age of five. I cared for them during standard work hours in their own home, taking them to the park, play groups, and the library. I was responsible for planning activities, allotting time to be active and outdoors, providing basic first aid and administering any medications they needed, as well as preparing meals and tidying the house. All of these experiences have helped me hone skills that I believe would be an attribute to your team of employees. I believe that all of these focus areas could easily be transferred to a position such as this one. If provided with this job opportunity, I can offer great enthusiasm, dependability, and an immense amount of care and responsibility. I also am eager to learn new skills, great at following directions, and unafraid of asking questions to better my performance as an employee.
