I became an early childhood educator because I want to leave the world better than I found it. More often than not, children are my best teachers because of how vulnerable, emotional and honest they are. I started working as a nanny in 2013 while I was taking classes at Middlesex Community College, and knew then that I wanted to work with primarily with young children. While earning my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Care at Bridgewater State University I discovered and became passionate about mindfulness. Mindfulness is “focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations”. I have a lot of experience with babysitting from ages <1 year to around 12 years old! I have also had experience with tutoring kids around the 9-13 years old which gives me good experience to help with homework, etc. I am a freshman in the College of General Studies at Boston University and am looking for some part time work on weekends or possibly one weekday (around 5-6 hrs a week). I recently had a gap semester where I spent most of it (32 hrs a week) nannying for two different families (one boy - 1 y/o and the other family 2 girls - 2 and 4 y/o) and I really grew to love the work and the kids so much so I’m hoping to find that here as well!
