Christine Cotardo 902 Knight Rd. Cherry Hill, NJ 08034 (650) 678-3244 christine.o1116@gmail..com EXPERIENCE Little Sport, Maple Shade, NJ — Lead Preschool Teacher/ Summer Camp Director January 2014 - PRESENT When I started as lead teacher in the LittleSPORT preschool enrichment program, there were only a handful students enrolled. Over the past 6 years I have grown the program to where we currently have a waitlist for the upcoming year. The preschool program has grown not only in enrollment size, but also in quality of classroom organization and curriculum. This progress is the product of refining an established program, building relationships with the parents/ families of the students, and continually creating new and creative age appropriate curriculum. For the past 4 years I have been LittleSPORT’s Camp Director. As director I was responsible for planning and implementing daily themes, curriculum, and overseeing all staffing/ internal operations. I was also the lead Read more contact to parent interactions and engagement. Over the last year I have taken on a year round management roll. As such, I would lead team meetings, handle parent and service correspondence, and ensure the health/ safety of staff and facility. University Kids (private preschool), Salt Lake City, UT — Lead Preschool Teacher/ Learning Adventures Teacher and Program Curator September 2010 - August 2013 University Kids is a school affiliated with a daycare in Utah. I spent a portion of my time there as the preschool teacher in a 3-4 classroom. I enjoyed my time with the children and it was there that I learned to create a monthly curriculum. The school was NAEYC accredited and we followed strict classroom and course guidelines. After the first year, there was an opening to lead the UKids “Learning Adventures” program. I directed and operated the program daily. Over time I created my own additions to the program including UKids Yoga (taught by me) and UKids Zumba (finding a dance instructor). In 2002, “Learning Adventures” had the highest enrollment since the school’s opening. I was sad to have to leave the program. My husband had to move to New Jersey for his work, therefore my time at UKids had to end. Caregiver, Salt Lake City, UT — Nanny (full time) August 2005 - September 2010 I was hired to work as a full time nanny while I was taking courses in college. When I began working with the family there was one young girl (age 2) and the position included day to day care, cleaning, and beginning preschool learning sessions. The family had another baby girl and the position now heavily relied on time management skills, patience, a commitment to care. Over the years of working with this family I gained irreplaceable life skills, as well as learned that my future was clearly destined to work with and teach young children. EDUCATION University of Utah, Salt Lake City — B.S. Exercise & Sport Science August 2004 - MONTH 2010 While attending the U of U, I was able to watch the school grow from a D3 to a D1 university. That status change brought an influx of money to many of the programs and classes on campus. This now sought after and thriving university taught me to be task oriented and proficient in my studies. During my ESS studies I had the amazing opportunity to work with a school study program looking at preschool age children (all of which were on the Spectrum) and the impact of movement and activity. I was able to physically see the direct result of exercise on mood, socialization, and academic proficiency. Though I knew how much I adored teaching and working with children, I felt and still very strongly about the need to share the importance of healthy movement, body awareness, and nutrition. Graduating with a B.S. in ESS has allowed me to incorporate health with learning throughout my teaching career. In my opinion the best way to teach a healthy lifestyle is to start with the youngest and most valuable demographic, children. Crystal Springs Uplands School, Hillsborough, CA September 2000 - June 2004 CSUS is a college preparatory school. I received one of the best high school educations in the Bay Area. I came out of high school ready and prepared for college and the challenges to come. PROJECTS ELP (enriched learning program) — Afternoon School Program (ages 3.5-5) EST. 2019 I created an afternoon Preschool program at LittleSPORT. This program had been a dream that I had hoped to create for a couple years past. This past year was its inaugural run and it went better than expected. I offer 2 extra days of programming: Wednesday’s and Thursday’s. There is a Reading Readiness class, along with Math/Science. The program is geared toward older preschool aged children that have a baseline knowledge of phonics, numbers, and reasoning. ELP has been a resounding success and will hopefully carry on with each school year to come. SKILLS -task oriented -hard working -creative -innovative -personable -able to always put students first -adapts easily to change -works well under pressure -strong parent communication/relations -patient -eager and willing to learn -direct and manage aids in the classroom LANGUAGES English and Italian
