Child care and pediatrics have remained my passion since high school and my current job position as a Recreation Aide at Weisman Children's Rehabilitation Hospital has given me reputable experience in the field. I have a high school diploma and am in an undergraduate program for social work at Rutgers University. In addition to my academic education, I am trained in CPR/BLS, CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention), and am currently working toward certification as a car seat technician. I enjoy working with children and am capable of encouraging play and learning, providing comfort and support, and forming an individual connection with each child. As a Recreation Aide I work under the supervision of Child Life and Senior Recreational Therapists to facilitate play and leisure activities for children ages 0-21 years old. I care for children with medical complexities including but not limited to poor infant feeding, neonatal abstinence syndrome, Read more asthma, diabetes, tracheostomy, cognitive deficits, stroke, and traumatic brain injuries. Additionally, I have experience tutoring children ages 7-12 in subjects including Algebra and English and nannying/sitting for children ages 3-12. My current availability throughout the week is Thursday afternoon, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
