I have a lot of experience with children of all ages. I started with baby-sitting a few of my neighbors with children. When I was in high school, I coached a youth soccer team and a youth lacrosse team for 4-5-year-olds. I also worked at a local ice cream shop where I ran birthday parties and story time. Story time was a program I created for kids where I would read them 2-3 books, and do a craft related to the stories. During college, I became a camp counselor for two summers at Moorestown Friends School. Through this camp, I met so many wonderful children and families. There were three families that I became a regular babysitter for from this camp, one of these had 4-year-old twin boys, one had a 5-year-old daughter, and the third family had a 2 month year old, a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old. I worked Read more at this camp for two summers, and then I was approached by a family to become their nanny. I agreed and for 3 summers I worked with this family 5 days a week. Once I graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick with a degree in biology, I began to work with the family during the school year as well. I would do pick-ups, homework help, meals, and occasional bedtime. This was a great experience as I was able to grow very close with the family and be an active role in the child's life. I have done occasional overnights with this family as well, and there were occasions when I watched the child for a week when the parents went away. I have also done overnight babysitting jobs with a family that had 3 young girls. While being a nanny, I worked part time at a research lab at Thomas Jefferson University doing traumatic brain research while the child was in school, and would leave in time to pick her up. Once I moved to Brigantine, I transitioned into a full time position at Thomas Jefferson University. I still babysit for various families, including the one that I was a nanny for before I moved. Also, I have a 3-year-old niece. I have been baby-sitting her since she was born. While I do love the research that I am doing, I have decided to get my master's degree in occupational therapy, and want to be a nanny while working on this degree. I absolutely love kids and am excited to get back into a nanny position. I enjoy sports, being outdoors, arts & crafts, science, baking, and the beach! I have recently had a background check and child abuse check done. Also, I am CPR and First Aid certified for infants, children, and adults.
