Have you ever had a special talent or defining capability that people recognized you for? One that you knew was a defining ability of who you are? Well I do! And that is my ability to work so well with children. It is a talent I am very happy to have and even happier to use! I may only be 21 years old but I have a plethora of experience with kids of all ages. At 18 traveled to Kolkata, India to do service for the dying and desolate in the missionaries of charity. However, I soon found myself in the slums of Kolkata working with children who were in so much need. Soon I felt pulled more and more towards helping these children until I was a key role in two different organizations working with street and slum children. I have cared for children aging from 6 months to Read more 12 years old. I have extensive medical training from my total of 12 months spent in India and I am CPR certified. I've also tutored children in grammar school up to high school classes for the past 5 years (yes, I have been tutoring since I was 16!). In addition, I have worked for a child care after school program for a year and a half now with 2nd through 7th graders. I love telling funny stories and teaching kids about science and the world around us in a way that draws them into learning instead of pushing them away. I am pursuing a degree in biochemistry and eventually a masters in pharmaceutical engineering, but in the meantime I am continuing to use my great ability with children.
