I worked for my last family for 7 years, Ella the eldest was 5 months when I started. And Harper was 1 month. I pride myself on being incredibly reliable. I am a very outgoing person I have a very calming demeanor, I am able to calm children when life gets overwhelming and stressful. Children are very comfortable with me and tend to feel safe around me. The family I worked for is still part of my life as we have made a great friendship as well. My duties included feeding the children healthy, balanced meals and encouraged them to try foods. You can give me a list a mile long- what to feed for breakfast/lunch, when to do nap time, feedings etc... I try to handle every detail... and go above and beyond. I love involving the children in making the food, which is one reason they are comfortable Read more in the kitchen as 12- and 10-year-olds. I made sure they were "put together" every morning (clothes, teeth brushed, hair fixed); read them several books every day, helped teach them "the basics" - letters, numbers, etc - when they were ready; and always carried on whatever tasks the parents were working on with them at home. Whatever rules were in place, I would hold them to the same standards. Respect, kindness, screen time rules, meal time expectations... I try to hold to the same standards when the parents aren't home as to when they were. I drove children to preschool; took them on outings to friend' houses, playgrounds, parks, etc; took them to weekly toddler/preschool classes at the local library. I tried to be a constant in their lives who brought stability and comfort when Mom and Dad had to be at work. Quote from Harper: Auni is a good nanny because she made healthy, yummy food.
