Working with children is the most rewarding job there is. Their creativity, energy, and sense of adventure keeps us on our toes and there is so much to learn from them. I have been babysitting since Junior High School for family and friends, and have found ways to work with children in many different capacities. I have been an academic tutor for 8 years, all throughout high school and college. I was a swim instructor for 2 consecutive summer, working with children ages 4-15 to improve their skills. I have worked as a one-to-one teaching assistant at a school for children with special needs. I have experience with nonverbal children/teens, kids on the spectrum, kids with various physical disabilities, toileting, and feeding. Each of these experiences has contributed to my passion for working with children of different ages and abilities. I am currently in my third year of graduate school Read more to pursue my doctorate in Occupational Therapy. I am in the final stages of my OT journey, completing clinical fieldwork placements.
