I am currently an elementary school teacher looking for a summer position. Though now most of my time is spent with 10 and 11 year olds, I have experience working with children as young as newborns. The family I have previously worked for over summers now has children old enough that they no longer need supervision. I started with them when their boys were 2 and 6, and they just finished second grade and sixth grade. They are now attending a full day sports program. I believe summers should be spent outside when the weather allows, whether in a backyard, or a park, or a walk around the neighborhood. I can support children in completing assigned summer school work, or help prevent the summer slide by reading every day. For most children on non-stormy days, I limit screen time to about 1 hour or less. I am happy to help Read more with light house work and simple meal prep. I am looking for a position mainly for July and August that could extend into the fall if outside school hours. I am also looking for a position with afternoon or evening hours because I have a morning commitment.
