Hi! I’m applying as a Nanny for your children. I have many years of experience as a nanny & as an early intervention, pre-school & special education teacher. I am highly qualified & have master’s degrees in Early Childhood, Child Development and Literacy, & a bachelor’s in Special Education, & I have NY State and NJ Teaching Certifications in Special Education, in Elementary Ed: Pre-K to 6, & in Literacy: Birth to 6. I’ve chosen to be a Nanny because I am nurturing, safe & compassionate, I have a great love of children of all ages, including infants & toddlers, & I sincerely enjoy caring for, guiding & playing with them, & also supporting their families in any way they may need me to. Many children were typically developing without any special needs, some have been gifted, & others have had various types of cognitive, physical, learning, & emotional disabilities. These years of teaching & child care have lead me to believe that at any age & with any challenges children may face, their learning can be endless, & that my role as a nanny & educator is to empower the children I work with to acquire unlimited social-emotional, communication, physical-motor, self-care, academic, & other important life skills, as independently as possible. Equally important, regardless of their age or ability level, I also teach the children I work with to believe in themselves & to have positive self-images, & to practice creative problem-solving skills, appreciate diversity, & to respect all others in their communities and the world. As a teacher, nanny & caregiver, I have consistently demonstrated notable talents in assessing children’s learning & play styles, preferences & strengths, & I set them up for success by motivating & encouraging them with positive reinforcement, & by celebrating the steps they make. I creatively prepare, coordinate & participate in meaningful experiences & activities with them that are positive, stimulating, active, nurturing, fun & safe, that best meet their needs, interests & abilities. These include various indoor & outdoor play activities, including sports, gross motor, fine motor, music, & arts & crafts activities, as well as educational & recreational community trips in NYC & NJ. In addition, during my experience as a nanny, I have been consistently reliable, flexible, cooperative & communicative in my relationships with the families I work with. I have also prepared & fed the children their meals, cleaned up after them, & have done their laundry, & I helped with family errands.
