I recently graduated from IUPUI with a bachelor's in Kinesiology. Instead of going straight to grad school, I chose to do a year of service with Americorps. Since August, I have been working at Great Oaks Legacy School in Newark, NJ where I tutor and mentor middle school students. This experience has been the more challenging and emotionally exhausting than I could have imagined, but it's also the most rewarding work I've ever done! In the past, I've held positions at Charla's Playhouse, an in-home daycare in Southern Illinois, IUPUI Day Camps and at YMCA Cityway downtown. I have worked with children as young as 8 months to 13 years old. I will admit, I don't have much long-term nanny experience, but I have been babysitting here and there for friends and family for over a decade.
