Although I've never been a nanny before, I have 10 years of experience babysitting kids of all ages and developmental abilities, as well as 7 years' experience working with children with developmental and mental disabilities. This experience includes working at the county Special Services school during water therapy for the special needs students, giving swimming lessons to children as young as two (just getting comfortable in the water) and as old as high school (pre-swim team). I also have experience coaching a swim team. I am a certified lifeguard with Red Cross certifications in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid. I hold a Bachelor's degree from Catholic University of America (Washington, DC) in French with a minor in psychology, and spent the last year teaching English to middle school-aged children in St-Omer, France. I speak French fluently. I love to travel, to write, to go to the beach, photography, and theatre. Read more And I love kids! When babysitting, I try to encourage kids to be creative, to read to me (or to let me read to them), to go outside and run around instead of sitting in front of the tv or computer.
