As a dedicated worker with experience in food services and childcare, my training has helped me learn to think on my feet and be ready to take action. These experiences have helped me prepare for any future challenges I may face at work. Friends often describe me as hard working, punctual, professional, quick learner, and am an excellent people skills. I love a challenge and I am passionate about the things I love. Last summer I worked at the YMCA in Maplewood. I learned to greeted all children in a professional and friendly manner, asesses my own individual progress and make appropriate changes, explain and demonstrated gym games and activities to party the children's needs, explained class objectives and rules., teach a variety of group classes, including games and art, and consistently try to make each child's experience as best as it could be. I learned that I love to Read more spend time with children and it made me feel happier and be happier. So, during the school year, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to work with kids through the previous semester. My only regret would be not getting to know the children more. By babysitting, I hope I will have the opportunity to work with kids and get to know more about them past that their favorite color is blue and they like video games. I also worked at my church on the weekends and got to run the daycare for kids while their parents were enjoying the church services. I loved hanging out with the children i met, but it was only for a couple hours. This is why I really want to babysit this summer so again I can get to know a child better. I am also a major in psychology and I am hoping that in the future I can be a therapist for especially young children, so this would be a great way to start to understand and learn from kids. I also feel that babysitting will just help me grow since I feel I still need more experience with them to decide I want to dedicate my lives to children. For my developmental disabilities class, I worked at the autism awareness event in my college town and got to face paint kids. It was so rewarding to work hard on painting a butterfly or a dragon on a kids face and see their face lite up. I honestly think that is the most rewarding part of working with kids is making them happy. This summer, I am working at Playa Bowls in Milburn. I like the job but I miss spending time with kids. Also, the hours are very flexible so I will have a lot of time this summer to hopefully.
