My philosophy is that safety always comes first! I know that as parents, choosing a child care service for your child is the most important decision you will make. I started working as a mother's helper with other families around 12 to start gaining experience. Then naturally I went on to baby-sitting on my own. I attended Union County Vocational-Technical School in Scotch Plains, NJ. I graduated with a Child Development Certificate in 2004. It was a 2 year program, in which we would spend three days a week working with children ages 3-5 in their vo-tykes program. It was a daycare meant for students to gain experience and implement our studies. The other two days were on the studies of child development, including but not limited too: -Developing child in the four main areas: social, emotional, physical, and intellectual. -Child psychology and behavior. -Planning age-appropriate lessons for preschool children. At the end of the second year we took a National Competency Test that consisted of written questions and a performance of a story and a lesson with the children. In my senior year (2005) at RPHS, I volunteered in the afternoons, at a local elementary school (Robert Gordon Elementary School). I was an assistant in a self-contained special education preschool/kindergarten class. I worked with students with: learning disabilities, autism, & behavioral problems. I graduated from Roselle Park High School in 2005. Daycare Experience Here We Grow Westfield, NJ 6weeks-kindergarten June 2005 - August 2006 Rainbow Academy Cranford, NJ 6weeks-kindergarten August 2006 - September 2009 I also have experience with multiple food allergies, potty-training, twins, and drop off /pick up from schools, day care, and after-school activities. I have also been responsible for medical needs such as daily medication, nebulizer treatments, etc.
