Hello! My name is Breene Carlin and I am a 24-year-old Pediatric Occupational Therapist. I graduated in May of 2023 and received my Master's in Occupational Therapy, a Bachelor's in Healthcare Science, and a Minor in Psychology. Ever since graduating, I have been working in an elementary school as a school-based Occupational Therapist (OT). Because I work in the school setting, I am off during the summer months and am looking for a short-term position over the summer that will allow me to continue expanding my experience of working with children. Before becoming an OT I previously worked as a lifeguard/pre-school teaching assistant with the YMCA for 2 years and then as a nanny of 3 very active boys for 2 years. My current job requires me to have up-to-date clearances and certifications; therefore, I am certified in CPR/First Aide/AED, have taken classes with the Food Allergy and Research Education Read more organization, have all of my state and FBI background checks, am a Certified Mandated Reporter, and am certified as an Occupational Therapist in both NJ and PA. Since I can remember, I have always taken on the "caretaker" role in some capacity. I come from a very big and close family and am the oldest of 10 grandchildren. Helping out and taking care of others has always come naturally to me and has led me to my career today. Being a babysitter was my first ever job growing up and I have stayed working with kids in some way ever since. Along with experience working with kids, I also have much experience with pet-care as well as I have two dogs of my own currently, but have taken care of dogs, cats, pigs, guinea pigs, hamsters, and fish of all shapes and sizes in the past. I encourage any opportunity to allow me to continue to share my experience and knowledge of working with kids and help me grow as a Pediatric Therapist. Thank you for your consideration:)
