Along with babysitting for friends and family for 7 years, one summer I was a full-time Counselor at YMCA Camp Mason in New Jersey. This position entailed me living on camp grounds without technology and caring for up to 20 children (ages 8-15) at a time for five weeks. A co-counselor and I were responsible for 10 13-year-old girls living in our cabin for two week sessions, with our duties including: wake up call, cabin clean-up, meals, discipline, upholding the four core values of the YMCA, and providing a safe and life-changing experience for these kids. Additionally, I lead several daily activities such as Archery , theater and improvisation, outdoor cooking, arts and crafts, and more. In these activities I would have a mixed group of 20 children of all ages at a time. Multiple parents praised me upon picking up their children for my balanced relationship of friend and Read more disciplinarian with the kids. I am also a writing and reading tutor, and am currently learning American Sign Language. I just graduated college, so I am looking to start a new position immediately!
