I began as a babysitter when I was 12. There were little jobs here and there that my extended family provided whenever they decided to have more babies. Not only did my family hire me as their babysitter nearly every weekend, but my neighbors would also, call me to take care their kids on an odd day that they couldn't get home soon enough after work. Around the time I turned fifteen, I had my first experience as a nanny. I had traveled to the Dominican Republic to visit my relatives for a stay of 2 months. In those two months, my cousin had begun working as a teacher. And since I needed a place to stay, I became a live in nanny for her five month old son.
