My name is Morgan. I am recently married and just moved to Santa Fe from Northern VA. I am pursuing a career in Early Childhood Education. I earned my certification for CPR/First Aid/AED/Infant care through RedCross. I am working toward a bachelor's in Early Childhood and eventually a masters. I am about to begin working as a camp counselor for the summer here in Santa Fe. Prior this summer job I have been a nanny for an infant boy and occasionally his 7 year old sister. Before moving, I was a Nanny for a family of three children (ages 3, 3 and 6, now 4 and 8) for a year and seven months. I also planned children's parties. I babysat for 10+ years on and off. I directed a summer camp in my backyard for three consecutive summers not long after I started babysitting. I called it Camp Craft and Read more hired two of my friends to help supervise. On average there would be 6-10 kids each day (between the ages of 4-8). I planned, organized and supervised a variety of cognitive and physical games, crafts and healthy snacks. I also organized time for the kids to have fun learning about theater and science. They all participated in creating a play to perform for their parents at the end of the week. I learned a lot about child psychology early on. My mom is an elementary school teacher and I have volunteered a number of times doing things with her students. I also was the oldest among many young children in my family. I have a number of experiences caring for infants and toddlers as well. In high school, I volunteered as a soccer coach for two seasons (U9-U10 Boys). I earned my E Level Soccer Coaching license prior to coaching my own team. I loved the experience and the boys were awesome to work with. I played soccer growing up among a number of other sports and hobbies. I love being active and creative. Since moving to Santa Fe I have also been volunteering at NMCTR when I can. I love to do yoga, gymnastics, crafts, experiments, sports, puzzles, reading, cooking, and exploring with the kids I care for. (to name a few things) I can cook/meal plan for any diet and natural/healthy cooking is a priority of mine. I also have a background in cosmetology (hair, nails, skin). At some point in my future I intend to direct my own early learning center. For now I'm learning as much about children and human development as possible.
