Hi! My name is Kayty Grissler. I am 23 years old and live in Astoria. I am a full time graduate student studying early childhood education and special education. I am extremely passionate about children and love watching them grow. I was a full time nanny for 2 year old twin boys until they were 4. I planned all of their daily activities, prepared their meals, and made sure they were always smiling. I have an 11 year old sister who I watched and babysat for the past 11 years. I also was a nanny the past 2 summers for a 6 month old girl. I prepared her meals, played with her, took part in swimming lessons with her, and helped her reach milestones such as walking and saying her first words. I have worked at a day care as a teacher's aid and was a teacher's aid during my undergraduate studies in a kindergarten classroom that had several children with special needs. In addition to being a nanny and teacher's aid, I have been a camp counselor and have volunteered at several Special Olympic's events. I also studied abroad in Spain and volunteered at a Special Education school for young children. This fall I also received my certificate in training in the needs of students it's autism. In addition, this fall I was able to observe in a 1st grade classroom that had a young boy with autism, I had the opportunity to work one on one with him and really help him with his daily work. It was so amazing to see his progress each time I visited. I really love children and would be extremely happy if I had the opportunity to watch your child/children. Thank you so much for your time!
