For the past school year I have worked with a 12 year old boy here in the city. My responsibilities included pick up, arranging play dates, meal prep, laundry / some cleaning, and walking the dogs. He is going to away to summer camp and the family won't need my help come the fall, so I'm looking for a new opportunity. I also have experience as a teacher. First, I taught English in Bangkok for 1.5 years to boys ages 11-14. While in Bangkok I tutored students on the side. When I returned home I substitute taught in elementary schools, middle schools and high schools. Eventually I was offered a position of a long-term substitute as a 7th grade science teacher. One of the main reasons they offered me this position is because of how well I connected with the kids. I worked in this role for 3 months until Read more the school year ended. I have lots of experience engaging kids. I enjoy their enthusiasm and their honesty, and I believe there's no joy quite like the joy of discovery. Personally, I'm an aspiring screenwriter, and the schedule babysitting gives me is very conducive to writing.
