Hi there! I'm Mariah and can't wait to speak with you about your family. I've always enjoyed working with children and experiencing their curiosity, growth, and general hilariousness. As a recent graduate, I’m currently available for recurring or occasional summer babysitting. If there are any date nights coming up, overnight trips, or anything else requiring drop in care, please reach out! My childcare philosophy centers positive reinforcement and child-led exploration. Through imaginative play, stories, and games, I aim to help kiddos feel comfortable, safe, and excited for our time together! Currently, I am a sitter for two families in Brooklyn who will no longer need care post June. With one family, I work with a four year old and an eight year old. With the with the other, I work with a five year old. I do school pick ups, walks home, and meal prep/bedtime care as needed. My past Read more experience includes working as an au pair in Paris, as a summer camp counselor for children with special needs, and as a tutor/babysitter for a nine and ten year old. Additionally, I have hands-on experience with children on the spectrum, both in a classroom setting and one-on-one. I tailor my caregiving approaches to fit each individual child, as each has different needs, personalities, and learning styles — even within the same family! Many families I have worked with have minimal screen time in the home, so I'm experienced at developing engaging, informative activities for various ages and abilities.
