I love working with kids! There is never a dull moment with children and it really makes the work that I do fulfilling. Currently I am a Dean of Students as Summit Academy Charter School in Brooklyn, which means my availability matches up pretty nicely to school schedules and days off. My students range from ages 10-18 in grades 6-12. Nevertheless while in graduate school I was a part-time nanny/ caregiver for a family with four children ages 2-12, and I have also worked in an elementary school, after school programs, and summer programs. As a social worker and educator I have experience working with children with special needs and am knowledgeable about early child development. I am specifically trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) & Intervention for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. My past employers, current colleagues, and many of my kiddies would describe me as trustworthy, patient, and Read more organized. Working in a school has certainly kept me on my toes in regards to monitoring children while managing multiple tasks. I enjoy using innovative fun activities to occupy my time with the children and families that I work with. It is key to note that I am always open-minded and respectful of the diverse values that they may have. In addition, I am completely open to supporting with other responsibilities beyond solely "babysitting". Ideally I would like to find a family that is looking for consistency, who I can commit to across a longer period of time on a part-time basis. Some of my other certifications include: First-Aid , CPR (adult & child/infant). I am open to all forms of screening prior to booking such as phone interviews (call/text), emails, in-person interviews, and so forth. I look forward to hearing from and meeting the new families who I can give a hand!
