Hello! My name is Nell, I am a nanny and former preschool teacher with over eight years of experience caring for children from 3 months to 10 years. I absolutely love spending time with children, and I particularly enjoy engaging them in outdoor/nature education, reading with them, and doing collaborative activities like baking or art. I think my strengths lie in creating relationships where children can feel nurtured, safe, respected, and understood. I have been an assistant in both public and private infant/toddler and preschool classrooms, and have worked with teachers trained in Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, and Montessori pedagogy. I took child development and education classes while studying for my BA at Mount Holyoke College. I have also done in-home childcare for many years, and have experience with infant care, making meals, driving/taking children on outings, light housework, caring for sick children, diapering/potty training, and generally keeping them happy and Read more healthy. Ideally, I am looking for live-out positions between 30 and 45 hours a week within commuting distance from Bed Stuy, and am available to start 10/11. Happy to do housework, meal prep, errands, etc. especially while children are napping or in school/activities. I love animals, so pet care is also a possibility. Also willing to discuss some late/overnights or travel if it's the right fit!
