Professional Experience Family 1, Brooklyn (Park Slope), NY: April 2013 to Present This family has 1 child. At the time I started the child was 6 months old, now she's almost 2. My hours are between 8am and 6pm Monday to Thursdays with the possibility to start earlier, finish later and work on Fridays. I am responsible for the complete care of the child which includes administering medication when needed, schedule play dates, attended classes, light food preparation, laundry and any other task. When I get to work, I'd be briefed mainly on her eating and sleeping since I last worked and accept any suggestions on ideas for the day or the week. Though the job is on 4th Avenue I'm always open for a walk anywhere within the range designated by the parents. I always update them throughout the day on our location and activities. Family 2, Maplewood, NJ: June 2012 to March 2013 This family has 2 children, a 2.5 year old girl and a 3 month old boy. Both parents worked in Manhattan and commuted daily. My working hours were from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday. I was rarely ever asked to work late or on weekends. I was solely responsible for the care of the children, there was no need to do the laundry nor do light house-keeping. The older child attended daycare in South Orange so I was required to drive the family vehicle for drop off and pick up. Again, I was open for suggestions from the parents on play dates or doctors’ appointments. Sometimes I took the children on train rides to neighborhood townships to spend the day with other friends. I also documented eating and sleeping habits for the parents. Family 3, New York (UWS), NY: 2007 to 2012 They had 3 children but at the time when I started they only had one child. The job started around 7:30am. Similarly I was responsible to take care of the children fully unless otherwise instructed. When I got in the children would be eating breakfast and later I would take them to school or maybe a parent did. Throughout the day while they were younger I scheduled play dates with friends. When the kids got older, I was mainly responsible for taking them to their respective after school activities and sometimes sit and wait for them. When they napped or were in school I’d do the laundry, buy groceries, cook meals, clean, or run errands.
