Hi, I'm Peter! I am a father to a wonderful toddler, a caregiver for my adult disabled brother-in-law and a teacher with over ten years of experience between Preschool, Kindergarten and First Grade. I am CPR and AED certified and also certified to teach grades 1-6 in New York. As a teacher and a father, I believe in the power of learning through play. Whether it's playing make-believe, making art or running/crawling around outside, there are opportunities for learning in everything a child does. I also believe in explicit teaching of social emotional skills. Learning to identify and regulate emotions from a young age builds the foundation for healthy relationships, effective communication and lifelong emotional well-being. I am also well versed in the little things that parents and caregivers do on a daily basis, such as changing diapers, preparing meals, establishing sleep routines, cleaning up and juggling multiple tasks. My Read more daughter is headed to UPK this fall and so I have availability from approximately 9:00-3:00 (depending on the length of the drive) Monday through Friday. I can also be available for additional hours in the evenings and on weekends with some advanced notice. Please feel free to contact me for references or any other questions you may have!
