Hi there! My name is Akilah, it’s nice to virtually meet you! I’m 30 years old, born and raised in NY about 30 min North of the city. I now live in Brooklyn and absolutely love it. I’ve found that the city is a fascinating place with so much to explore, especially for children! I’ve been working in Westchester for the last 10+ years. However with my recent move to Brooklyn as well as my current family no longer needing as much help, I’m hoping to relocate and work with an amazing family closer to home. I went to college and majored in Psychology while minoring in education and learned so much. But I must say there is no teacher like experience. Throughout my time in this field I have learned that no two children are the same. I’ve learned that anything can be accomplished with patience, communication and love. Read more I’ve learned the importance of listening to children and what they are feeling while maintaining a safe and peaceful environment. Not to mention I’ve picked up all types of tips and tricks surrounding everything from teething infants to toddlers learning to share. I am bubbly, full of energy, caring, & pleasant. I take pride in being punctual as well as prepared. In my spare time, I am a professional photographer so get ready for lots of great shots of your little ones. I absolutely love anything arts and crafts, animals, and being outdoors. I also enjoy cooking and believe I will have you ordering out less loll. Lastly one of my favorite hobbies is organizing literally anything. Personally I think the label maker was one of the best inventions ever!
