For the past 5 years I have been a certified child life specialist working in pediatric hospitals. As a child life specialist I addressed patients psychosocial needs while providing normalization and education about the hospital environment. Based on patients developmental understanding, I provided new diagnosis teaching, activities, and advocated for the patients and their families in order to normalize the hospital environment. Last year I was part of a full-time nanny share for two families and their boys who were 8 months and 13 months. I provided developmentally appropriate stimulation and activities to promote normal growth and development. I carried out each child's schedule given by their parents to ensure structure for each child. My passion for working with children is evident though my work, and I look forward to continuing my journey to provide positive child care.
